Limestone Polypody
Today we submitted the summary report, site reports and all the supporting data for our John Clare Countryside surveys - a great weight off our shoulders. As a celebration, Pete and I went for a walk round Barnack village, doing a bit more plant recording on our way round.
Banack has wonderful Lincolnshire limestone cottages and walls, which support an array of mosses, liverworts, ferns and small annual plants such as Rue-leaved Saxifrage. This magnificent Limestone Polypody is one of the largest I've ever seen locally.
