Fixing
Steve serviced his bike this afternoon in preparation for a bike ride this evening. Bean was fascinated - actually, both boys were: Bear helped clean the bike with a scrubbing brush and a toothbrush, and tried to turn his trike over to "fix" it; and Bean kept asking if he was done so that they could fix his bike. His tyres needed pumping up, one was pretty flat. So Bean's bike was hoiked up onto the bike workstand and he tried so very hard to pump his tyre up. Steve finished it off and while we were thinking about checking the other tyre, BANG. One exploded tyre. Not pumped up past capacity, but a failure of the tyre. The other tyre looks like it would explode too if we tried to pump it up. Oh well. Need new tyres. And then twenty minutes after Steve left on his bike ride he texted to say he was on his way home. Catastrophic rear derailier failure, snapping the chain, which got entangled in the rear wheel - oh what joy.
It's been a funny old day.
Training this morning at Creation Station, brilliant fun squidging instant mashed potato and paint, watching a couple of tots use each other as moving canvases, and getting more involved with running sessions. Steve sounded like he had a pretty relaxed morning with Bear too after taking Bean to preschool!
Not so much fun it being the time of the month where my attitude and grumpiness and other things over the last week and a half gets explained. My goodness but it has been pretty awful PMT this time round. Sorry Steve.
But then two things today to bless us and make us smile and cry and be grateful - money appearing in our bank account just when we needed it, and a knock at the door with a box full of vegetables. Sometimes it takes a whole lot of courage to bless people, especially if you've been knocked back in the past. SO grateful though. And it meant we had enough potatoes for dinner :)
