A Trip to Cornwall
We managed to book a winter offer at a hotel nr Mawnan Smith not far from the Helford Passage , to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary next week . En route, we stopped off at a farmshop near Okehampton to have a light lunch .
We had planned to call at the Lost Gardens of Heligan which we hadn’t visited for years but the sun was out, so as we love the sea, we stopped at Mevagissey which you can see in the top two pics . It was invigorating and good to see that it is still a real fishing harbour. I hadn’t been there since I was about four years old , when my parents had friends in Looe .
Then it was onwards to Hotel Meudon . The hotel has gardens which slope down a valley to Bream Beach . The main house was once owned by the family who designed Trebah Gardens nearby . There are lots of tree ferns which were originally cut down and used as ballast for ships returning from Australia. They were planted and continue to flourish .
The bottom two pics show part of the walk and Bream Beach .
