Hengistbury Head
We’ve never visited Hengistbury Head before and as it was such a perfect day, off we went !
Obviously, it was really busy as it was Half Term but that just added to the holiday mood .
We had a delicious lunch in the cafe then did the circuit walk . The views are spectacular right along the coast to Mitford and Bournemouth as well as across to the Idle of Wight .
I hadn’t realised that one of tfe Rolks family had died there in the early days of flight and there is a memorial to him .
There’s also a very informative visitor centre as the geology is interesting as well as it being a prehistoric site . There is a reconstructed Iron Age hut and some early rare breed Cotswolds Sherp .
It was a fabulous day .
