Obviously after Betsy's name PJ's, come Al's!

'Al' is in the other leg, his middle name is David. He is called Al after my father, who was called Alexander but who everyone called Al. His middle name is for Chris's Dad.

Today, whilst sewing, I was half watching and listening to some old Top of the Pops which have stacked up on our Sky+, as they are repeating them on BBC4. I was watching one from 1978, the year I was ten. They played Never Let Her Slip Away by Andrew Gold. It reminded me so much of my Dad, he loved that song.

The same episode featured The Day the World Turned Day-Glo - I love X-Ray Spex. I discovered them later though, I wasn't into them when I was ten, sadly I was very far indeed from being that trendy! It made me wonder what my dad might have thought of them. Following lovely Andrew Gold comes Poly Styrene wailing about going to the Wimpy and having a rubber bun. He might have liked them - he liked all sorts of unexpected music though he never, ever could stand Toyah! Sadly, I did not feel the same and have (hidden) the photos to prove it : /
