New finds

School finishes at lunchtime on a Friday here so today I cycled along the bike path at pick-up time as usual. Realising that the day was cooler than I had thought, I stopped to put on my gloves and noticed a large clump of these glossy green and silver leaves down the side of one of the old bridges.

Turns out they are a garden escapee - Arum italicum - and the leaves die down by May so I wouldn't see them later in the summer when I might be more inclined to dawdle!

Love that no matter how often you go somewhere, there is always something new to find.

At home, the first crocus bud has appeared and the tips of the early tulip leaves are just peeping up in the pots. And we had amazing homemade pizzas for dinner, in the extra.
