Winding uphill in Settle

We went to Settle today to get fruit and veg in the market but we thought his prices were a bit steep, more expensive than the fella on Skipton market.
We did get some bargains in a little corner shop called Trevor’s Market though. Dorset nutty granola £1.50 a box and Jordan’s Berry and Almond Granola £1.20 plus a load of other much reduced stuff. At least half the supermarket prices.
We ended up going to Booth’s for fruit and veg and the other things we needed. I always thought Booth’s was really expensive but it wasn’t too bad.
Then we went to the garden centre for a bag of John Innes seed compost.
We were going to go for a coffee and a snack but I wasn’t keen on the vegan offerings. Why do cafe’s think chocolate cake is the best option for vegans - I hate chocolate cake it’s always far too sweet.
We ended up coming home and Frank made garlic mushrooms on toast.
Instead of cake I just had a jam butty! Yum!
This afternoon I went to Helliarts, the village’s monthly art group.
I made myself go otherwise I would have fallen asleep. It was nice to see the group and I just doodled. The theme was water. I did a waterfall, a running tap,  a toddler wearing wellies jumping in a puddle and a spilt glass of water. (extra)
One of the ladies - Yvonne - asked me if I would draw a little girl splashing in the water to illustrate a poem she’s written about her Granddaughter. Happy to oblige!

My thoughts are with the victims and families of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. It is heartbreaking to think of so many people suffering there.

It’s been really cold but dry and sunny today.
We are trying just use the wood burner and only the central heating if it’s unbearably cold. The living room is really warm but the rest of the house isn’t. :-[]
