Cheering up a Dull Day
Two shades of yellow cheerfulness, shop daffodils and the first Meadows’ crocuses.
It always feels to me as if spring is just around the corner when the crocuses on the Meadows suddenly appear.
12 years ago I planted daffodils near the boundary railings opposite the house and for years they made a wonderfully colourful display in the midst of relentless green of the lawns. Lately, with the increase in the number of dogs being exercised in the gardens my patch of daffodils seem to be the preferred place for them to lift a leg. After a really poor display last year I will be surprised if the daffies make the effort to show up this year. I’ll keep you posted.
