Heat lamp

Dan and I decided yesterday that the temperature that it's going to be from Friday midday through Saturday warrant a chicken/duck emergency. It is supposed to plunge down to about -17 F tomorrow night and we will be having wind blowing so the wind chill may be as low as - 40 at times. It will be a short extreme time. The birds generally do fine but this is a bit much. They will be out of the wind which is essential but still we thought putting a heat lamp in both of their abodes will give them a boost to get through this. I'm so glad it's going to be a short time period. The chicken coop is in front and the duck house is the building in back.
At this point there is still supposed to be school tomorrow. It should be interesting. I will be bundled up for sure!
