Cross Quarter Day

It is half way between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. We keep our Christmas tree up with just the lights on until this day and hopefully let it dry out completely. As it dries the tree starts to emit the most fragrant fir smell that wafts through our home. Then out we go and let it burn!!! We of course thank our tree :-)
The first year we did this, I think about 5 years ago, the tree burned so amazingly fast and perfectly. We have been striving to have a re-do but the trees just haven't burned quite as well. It's still a lot of fun to do but there are multiple relightings. Dan finally went and got his big propane torch, which you can see the wand of it to the left of the tree, and went to town. It's all over in about 5 minutes.
