Boom Whackers

We did have school today despite the cold weather. The school was very cautious with arrivals and dismissals today making sure the kids weren't standing outside at all. And of course we had inside recess today. The end of the day was music and I decided to get a picture of the boom whackers. These tubes are cut to specific lengths so when you hit them on the floor they produce a certain note. The music teacher has videos that the kids can watch and there is a symbol for their note and they play along to certain tunes. Each kid would have one or two different tubes and only play when their note comes up. It's pretty fun. I always join in when we get to use these.
I figured a school picture was the way to go because I wasn't taking one outside today. At 3:00 it was 0 and at 3:40 when I got home it was - 8. It is 5:00 and it's now -15. The low is supposed to be -18 but I think we'll go colder.... I'll let you know tomorrow!
