How many farmers does it take ...
To change a light bulb ?
One, plus a jack, socket set, screwdriver and a lot of swearing.
Mrs F took my car to work today after last night's late night failed attempt to change a head light bulb. Got the bulb out with a fiddle, didn't have one to fit,so managed to get to Halfords before they shut at 8 pm. Then into town to pick up Littlemiss from her school Burns Supper at 9.30pm. Back home and tried to fit said new bulb , in the rain, at 10.30pm. Who ever designed VW Cars should be taken out and shot cos the space to get your hand in was designed to fit a 5 year old. Needless to say I got my hand stuck and dropped the new bulb and holder, which promptly disappeared down the back of the wheel arch. Bugger. So gave up and went to bed.
Back to this morning. Had to take the front wheel off, unscrew all the plastic wheel arch, and found the missing bulb/ holder. Of course it fitted in no bother from the back now ! What a carry on just to change a bulb. If it was my Landrover, you just take out a couple of screws, change the bulb and job done.
Davy from Hamilton Tractors in to give me a price to change the round baler. Eventually did a deal, so it will be a different make than the New Holland balers I have had for the last 35 odd years, but he gave me a better price plus 0%, which the New Holland dealer wouldn't do,so stuff them. Also got round to eventually ordering fertilizer, which was more eye watering than the price to change the baler. The world has gone mad !
