Polarizing
The last few days have been most uninspiring for blipping with the weather more like winter than summer. Very heavy overnight rain left the river in spate and a few fields partially flooded. Poor Mr farmer friend has to get his cattle into the fields in the next couple of days as the winter feed is finished. The ground is that soft and wet it will just get churned up and destroy the grazing. The farmers really are getting it tough this year and need a break.
At least the sun came out at lunchtime, which gave me the opportunity for some blipping. I was keen to experiment with filters, which I have never used before. After reading up a bit about circular polarizing filters I decided to give one a go. The effect on the clouds and sky was quite dramatic as long as the camera was about 90 degrees to the sun. It also helped reduce glare from water and made it look much softer. Think I will keep experimenting with it and the other filters, although I have an awful lot to learn!
