Friend or Foe?

Oops, caught crouching next to my pond again, pointing my little iPhone at things that grow in my garden. Managed to get this image early in the morn before the rain moved in.

So, is this a flower or a weed? Two days ago my friend KettwigeFrau was over and her Mom, who knows about green things, walked through my yard and helped me identify friend versus foe. But I sort of forgot some of what she taught me :( I figure if it's colorful and pretty, then I'll keep it, even if I'm not suppose to want it. I love beautiful gardens, like I love a clean house - but truth is, I'm terrible at maintaining either.

But that's ok- I've got plenty of other talents. One is having fun with friends :) Which is precisely what I did tonight after a long work day! It was KP's birthday and lots of us got together at a local Italian joint run by some very attractive and flirtatious Egyptians (go figure!) and we had a very lovely time wining and dining :)

I may not know a foe, but I'm fantastic at finding friends!
