In Flight Shot

Lying on the floor as I do, doing a quick photo shoot on the wet lawn in the garden I could hear this droning noise. The pilot was doing aerobatics in the sky and turning over - it was wonderful to watch as he looped the loop around me.

Blipwise I was not unhappy with my results on camera with an orange tip butterfly and an incoming bee but was diverted for the rest of the day with the scenario unfolding!!

Just after I'd taken this shot footling with the lens on a passover flight ..pretty CLOSE OVERHEAD...as you can see..... the engine cut out! I wasn't unduly worried as I've seen and heard this before but it was apparent after a few seconds that the whole engine scenario wasn't working!! Gliding skilfully into a neighbours farm amongst a herd of cows with calves he made a careful landing after a 'Mayday' to the authorities.

Trotting round to the landing site to see the result - totally unprepared for sex-god to emerge from the cockpit ...... (I'd have killed for a hairbrush and some lippy at this point!) I stood in my wellies ..(damn)...amongst a field of cows.. shit happens, (even more damn) who were totally unconcerned that this was in their field!

The upshot of this was that Chief Pilot Andrew Davenport ..lets call him Andy shall we ... lol..... had realised he had a problem, touched down in the safest place possible and now has to dismantle the plane and put it onto a transporter this afternoon/evening to get it out of the field - not a cheap call .. well for sure!
