Sunshine!

Woke to blue skies and soon we had wall to wall sunshine for the whole day. Another slowish start then we headed to Portobello beach. Lovely walk along by the water’s edge, playing dare with the waves, digging with sticks and looking for shells. AR found an old ball and buried it somewhere then got upset when she couldn’t find it again….
We had a while in the amusement arcade, loading up the machines that push tuppences out. Fun but useless winnings wise, of course!
We played in the playground for a while, with Mt chasing and the kids hiding behind the bushes, then went back to queue up for pizza. Very slow moving and had to listen to two men talking property prices and private school experiences which was tortuous, so when the pizza manager said it would be at least half an hour more to wait we gave up and drove back to town to go to their shop by Middle Meadow Walk. Went straight in, and soon we had had two huge pizzas to eat. We must have been hungry….demolished both really quickly!
Home just before it got dark and snuggled up with hot chocolates and blankets to watch Strange World Disney film…..quite good, with very thinly veiled messaging about pandemics and righting wrongs of various types.
Afterwards they went to see their Aunty Iz then home for supper, stories and bed. I read another chapter of Harry Potter with AR then I watched some TV whilst Mt started gearing up for work again…groan!
It’s been a lovely few days….they go home tomorrow
