Last push

Yet another day of pouring rain….this is not only depressing but also the ground is so sodden it can’t absorb any more and evidence of flooding is everywhere…had to drive through many quite deep stretches of water around the roads today.
Went down to P’s early and pulled the carpet up on the stairs before Mt arrived and then he helped pull the rest up and carry them to the skip (which is now really full!).
We put the last couple of pieces of furniture into the garage for T to collect later, some others out for the council to collect and took one last car full to the charity shop, all the while getting soaked in the rain. Yuk! At least that’s the place empty now…
Drove down to meet up with H and the kids who were at the trampoline park nearby…Mx doing a lot of jerky jumps and dances (I think he felt he was being very funky!) and AR managing lots of great cartwheels…didn’t know she could do those!
We had a coffee and watched them for a while then headed to a nearby pub for a late lunch. After a false start in one place where the kitchen was closed we found a good place and had a lovely lunch chatting about big birthday plans, holidays and possible house swaps.
Left them to go home and I drove back to K’s via M&S and TKMaxx looking for some holiday things (unsuccessfully!). Good to arrive at K’s and get a cup of tea and sit looking for the house swaps that I’d promised for Mt&H….sent lots of messages so we’ll see if any work out.
TL came round to join us for supper and we played some scrabble afterwards and chatted about tattoos and cycling and football before I ended up heading to bed very early as I’d not slept that well last night.
