The River of Life

....or to give it its alternative affectionate title, 'The Floosie in the Jacuzzi' sits in Victoria Square, Birmingham, where I visited this morning.  I'd waited for the latest local rail strike to finish and caught the first off peak train of the morning.  The city was relatively quiet, certainly nothing like the old days of the post Christmas sales.

A walk around the city, taking in various sights was more enjoyable than the retail therapy.  In the end I spent just £16  in total.  With so many extras still to use up I've added a few more images of the day.

Going back to the sculpture, it was renovated for the second time since its original installation in time for the festivities around the Commonwealth Games this summer.  Hopefully it will last longer than the last repair.
