Pelé

The death of Pelé is everywhere in the news today here in Brazil.  Three days of mourning have been delcared in memory of the man who many see as the person who gave Brazil an identify on the world stage.

We had an unsuccessful trip into the centre to pay our condominium fees - the office was closed. 

The rain has been non-stop and low cloud means Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf are inaccessible for tourists on short visits keen to visit.

We hope it clears a little in the next 24 hours for this once-in-a-lifetime visit for many.
