Perfect Weather For A Mermaid, Upper Upnor

As predicted by the forecasters today has been wet and very windy. I decided to not let it stop me from going for my morning run even though I knew I would get soaked. After a hot bath and a bit of a snooze I was glad I made the effort.
I then had to enlist my brother to take me to the local sorting office to pick up a parcel which turned out to be a copy of the British Journal of Photography (the BJP for short), which now costs £20 for each issue! Some post men and women try to shove it through the letterbox but others decide that because it has "Please Do Not Bend" on it and they cannot sometimes get an answer at the door then they must take it back to said sorting office. Once collected we decided to make a short trip to Upper Upnor.
Upper Upnor has a jewel of a High Street. It's short, steep and cobbled and yet manages to feature two pubs (neither of which we have frequented before) and a castle at the far end which faces a languid bend of the River Medway.Today we decided to partake of a pint in the Kings Arms (the other pub being The Tudor Rose where I took the extra shot) and very nice it was too!
Today's main image is of the front garden of one of the clapperboard houses next door to the Kings Arms. I just loved this amazing sculpture of a mermaid - she looked fierce!
