Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Oh yes there will!

I went to church this morning after which Colin and I headed out to do various tasks ending up at the Gallery of Modern Art. nb GalleryTwo was closed, not sure why.
We walked across to GalleryOne and saw the new arrivals exhibition (much of which was familiar from the Art Quiz!). Lots of special things there, a Magritte, a Chagall, a Picasso, John's Lady in Grey, one of Dali's Lobster phones, so many more beautiful things - and some streaky paint coloured plastic sheets filling a huge room that I hope came free with a packet of cornflakes as I can see little value or merit to them I'm afraid. The rest though is well worth a visit. and of course a visit to the lovely shop is mandatory!
My thumbnail of the neon sign is my least favourite of the art works around the gallery. I want to have a tantrum every time I see it and shout out "Oh yes there will!" I've managed to refrain so far through!  On the other hand, I love the one on Gallery One, "Everything is Going to be Alright" which is a much cheerier sentiment and used to gladden my heart as I passed it. I'm sure I've blipped it but can't find it at the moment, Blipper hillson has a lovely shot of it here.
On the same topic of miracles, I'm sad to hear that Christine McVie has died she was a wonderful singer and songwriter. Fleetwood Mac's album Rumours from 1977 is one of my all time favourite albums. This is the Fleetwood mac 'miracle' song,  You make Lovin' Fun

The skies were lovely again today, the two lower shots of the collage were taken at the same time, around 3pm, one looking east the other west.
In the top image of the collage, you can see the clumps of mistletoe high on the branches of several of the lime trees. There's a close up of one of the clumps, lots of berries. I get a thrill every time I see mistletoe growing. These clumps have been there all my life and are one of my 'go to' reliable constants. There's lots of it to be seen in the trees around the two galleries.

Happy St Andrews day folks.
