Wishing wall

A quiet day today, given the weather.
Well, I say that - had an email from the kitchen designer to say he'd been told our insurance claim had been closed and the contractor had been discharged. Since the floors are still up, I considered this to be probably incorrect. A couple of phone calls later, all was resolved. It turns out that my insurer (A) is underwritten by (B), who engaged a claim management company (C), who contracted a building firm (D). Because C has a contract with B to complete works in four months, and we've postponed work until the Spring for [reasons], C have closed the claim and discharged D. The kitchen designer (E) need a contractor to deal with and I'd directed them to D, unaware of the B-C contractual issue.
Got that?
Okay, B, who have been excellent to deal with all through this, are still with the programme and have reassured me that, when I fire the starting pistol when I'm ready in the Spring, they'll re-engage a C, who will contact a D and we can start all over again. In the meantime, E may ask me to open an account with them as a self-builder to keep the kitchen design out of the trash folder.
We shall have a new kitchen next year and get the floors replaced (which were damaged by a central heating leak and the cause of the original drama).
Right. If you've read this far, back to the blip. I took H out for lunch up to the charming wee Wild Rowan Cafe in Dalavich. This is the side of their wishing wall.
Incidentally, the British Dupuytren's Society picked up on my tweet of this blip and contacted me. They've got loads of resources and I've spent a bit of the day learning about my new disease and its likely progression, as well as possible treatments when and if they're required (they likely shall be). The Society also found me on Mastodon and connected there.
