Painting with light
We take the inland route to Bangor for our visit to G’s mum, hoping that there will be some gaps in the cloud to light up the hills. The morning’s torrential rain has ceased, but the sky threatens more at any moment.
We’re thinking of the Ogwen valley, but as we reach Capel Curig, the sky towards Snowdon seems to be opening up. And so we return to the same lay-by where I took last Tuesday’s shot. Of course the light is very different today, and it seems the land has changed, last week’s greens becoming gold and brown.
Scudding clouds keep changing their jigsaw cracks, allowing the escaping rays to paint a range of patterns on the hills. With constantly changing light, taking shot after shot is irresistible, and inevitably this leaves me struggling deciding on my main so apologies, but it’s another set. My main - for now - is a slightly different view from last week’s shot, showing a very different Snowdonia mood, with three others taken from the same point but showing both the variations in the landscape and the light.
Thanks so much for your kind comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s Roman Bridge shot.
