Mexico Day 14

Another early start after little sleep. We headed out to Chichen Itza which was the jewel in the crown of Mayan sites. Even arriving at 8.15 am did not save us from the crowds already arriving on buses from the resort of Cancun. It certainly was magnificent. However the heat and humidity took its toll on both of us. We found it difficult and tiring.

After the visit it was 2.5 hours to the airport. We stood in line for an hour to wait for the BA check in desk to open. The airport was very noisy- Loud music coupled with low ceilings and crowds.

Our flight was busy, with really poor food but we enjoyed our G and T before settling to watch a couple of films. We slept 3 hours which was pretty good.

We’ve had a lovely trip though we realise that we prefer less humid climes and perhaps a less full-on travelling experience
