Start Of The Week

“November Ceremonies” as they are known in the military are Acts Of Remembrance during the last week of October until the second weekend in November.
For us here in Falmouth it started with the First Poppy Laying in October before manning the Poppy Appeal stands around the town. This week it culminates in Remembrance Sunday but before we get there we have Armistice Day on Friday along with wreath laying a the various war memorials that do not have a ceremony.

Todays Blip shows the Poppy Tribute placed on the rails around the ‘Cross of Sacrifice’ in Falmouth Cemetery. The Cross of Sacrifice is a Commonwealth war memorial designed in 1918 by Sir Reginald Blomfield for the Imperial War Graves Commission (now the Commonwealth War Graves Commission). It is present in Commonwealth war cemeteries such as Falmouth containing 40 or more graves.

The knee is fine.
