Pershore Abbey

The Pershore Warhorse Memorial was unveiled in 2019. The horse is made of donated or sponsored horseshoes. It stands beside its infantry “ostler” ready for whatever the war on the western ( and eastern) front threw in their path. And a lot was thrown in WW1.

If you look carefully you may also see the crotchet poppies on the gates at the entrance to the original Abbey nave.

This was our first visit to Pershore but we will definitely be back. Today before the afternoon rain arrived we walked a couple of miles along the river Avon.

We also found, in the town, a Photo Booth to take T’s passport photos so she can now renew her passport.
