The Mill

A return to Farfield Mill, but this time for a workshop. And what a lovely day I’ve had.

Inspired by Jane’s work https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3006699881877210263 and helped by her information, I booked a place on a Tapestry Weaving Workshop. It’s something I have always wanted to do but needed help in getting started. This was perfect. I’m not sure I will ever get to emulate Jane’s lovely work but I made an okay start (see extra).

Anna Wetherell is an excellent teacher and we were a good group of eight beginners. We started by going out for a brief walk down to the bridge, where this photo was taken, and we came back with ideas for our piece. My piece was inspired by moss on the stonework of the bridge - you can tell can’t you!

A great day, with lots of chat over lunch, there was remarkably little chat whilst we were working - it took a lot of concentration!
