Metamorphosis
What took you so long? Want some more of this. Please.
Nearly June and today, for us at least, was the first where the rain, the wind, the winter finally buggered off and gave us a sneaky peek at what we've been missing the past seven months and more. Managed breakfast outdoors. Ok, wearing a fleece top, but in shorts. And the shivering stopped as soon as the sun managed to clear the building and warmed up the back garden.
I could almost see the green leaves stretch out on the tree here, which was practically bare a week ago, though thought it odd looking that there was a long section of the tallest branch looking a bit barren. It wasn't until I looked at the photo on the big screen that I saw the cocoon down below, with something between a well fed caterpillar and a big moth no doubt enjoying some warmth before it makes its escape.
It was nice while it lasted, the sunshine, but the wind's picking up again and I can see the clouds building up over the back of the hills. Normal service to resume for the rest of the week.
