We flew back from Oslo yesterday afternoon and this morning I came back up to Harling Bank. Amongst the piles of post was this little device.

You connect to a laptop, then go to the Playtronica website and select a sound engine. This done, you can either trigger sounds by holding either end of it, and varying the pressure, or, more interestingly, connect two cables which have crocodile clips on the end.

You can then use whatever they’re connected to as a trigger. I’ve seen a very nice example where you put them into glasses of water and then trigger the sounds by touching the water’s surface. Today, though, I did little more than unpack it.

Also, on the subject of post, why do I still get actual post from companies that also contact me by email? And why the hell can’t I opt out of ALL junk mail?
