Busting My Buttons

I am so proud of Girly. She came in 2nd in the city-wide spelling bee this morning! The 5 public elementary schools and 2 private schools each sent 3 fourth graders to the competition. It was held in the City Council Chambers. They sat in a long row in front of a small crowd. Each took turns standing at the mic and spelling their word. It was positively nerve wracking! We didn't even know she was going until after school yesterday. The middle N in enviroNment did her in. Second place earned her this bobble-head trophy and a bag of goodies including fun pencils and pens and a gift card to our one and only big box store. Oh, and I treated her and The Boy to Italian sodas after school with a blended mocha for me. :)
