The lights are on but no one’s in!

This bulb, of the LED variety, caught my eye among all the horticultural ones at our local commercial garden centre today. We went there after the rain stopped, having been frustrated by the unexpected closure of the violin shop in town where T was hoping to re-string her violin. The website said it was open!

Much earlier I was out for a voluntary shift and was amazed at how mild it was before dawn.

As we enjoyed our lunch at home the news came in that the lectern of destiny was being sound tested outside Number 10 Downing Street. The Truss premiership was over and out in only 45 days.

I have noticed the overuse of the word “unprecedented” as Ms Truss’s authority rapidly evaporated in the last few days. I really do think, however, that the political events over the last 45 days are truly unprecedented.

As a dedicated European I am bitterly disappointed by the acute erosion of our country’s standing locally, nationally and internationally.
