Da Power Shower Dat Soaked Me!

It was a beautiful sunny day, when it wasn't heavy showers, thunder and lightning and a howling gale.

Last early shift of the week, and I started the day on the check-in desk.  It wasn't long before I moved to working with oil and gas flights.  A fine quiet evening at home, and walkies with Sammy.  Plenty of walking sure helps this trapped nerves, sitting seems to cause most pain, especially when I get up to move.

All of the showers today were in the morning, and they were heavy when they arrived.  I never actually saw or heard the thunder and lightning, but saw the strikes on an app, one hit very close to mam's house!   I managed to dodge all the showers this morning, so never bothered putting on my oilskins.  Last flight before lunch, one guy missing from the manifest, held us up for 10 minutes.  We finally headed out to the plane, and some spits of rain started.  Next we knew, the skies opened and the heaviest rain I've seen in a long time struck down on us.  At one point it was like I was leading an Arctic expedition, the guys couldn't see due to the rain in their eyes, but I managed to get the soaked men to the plane, and I was soaked to the bone, with my shoes filled with water.  Moments before, the skies were clear, looking back after, visibility had almost gone, then a rainbow appeared.  Note to self, put on proper winter clothes, regardless!  Me sheltering under the ATR tail, before heading back to he terminal, Sumburgh Airport.
