Pam Peters fused glass
I had a wonderful day! We had to turf the family out by 8:30 which was a pity but then arrived in just in time for our daughter to take us to Abergele, to try our hand at making glass items! There were 4 of us MF, Em and one of her Welsh friends who has such a beautiful soft voice! The four of us started being told a bit about glass. Did you know that glass is in liquid state. Apparently if you look at really old stained glass windows, the glass at the bottom is thicker at the bottom as it has ‘run’ down from the top over the centuries!
We started by making a ‘Curve’. A wild flower one. That took about an hour. It was interesting to see how the glass colours would change as the glass was fired. I went mainly for blues and reds.
After lunch, MF took sandwiches and a cuppa was provided, we made two little men, father Christmases or elves. We were taught to cut the glass and then paint as we wanted. We chose our own coloured glass. See extra for what they looked like before firing, we won’t see the finished result till they arrive by post!
I did the turquoise and yellow ones. So hope my moon comes out ok in my little wizard!

This is to help towards funding mammograms for people who can't afford them and don't have the NHS we have. Thank you for clicking!
