Lincoln castle walls
“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning “ psalm 130 v5-6
I started this last night and then completely forgot! So now a early morning blip for yesterday. I got up very early from Wokingham and drove up to Lincoln, a good journey and was then able to enjoy coffee and a tea cake for my breakfast. Such a lovely city I spent way more time than I expected doing the castle tour and the castle walls where this glorious view of Lincoln Cathedral is. There are only four copies of the original Magna Carta and one is kept in the prison inside the castle walls quite appropriately. It was so exciting to see it and I was surprised how tiny the writing is and how small the parchment. Then off to the campsite by the side of the river and after setting up, walked up to the local pub and enjoyed a really excellent supper and a decent pint. Both daughters managed to WhatsApp me during that time! Xavier wanted to ask me about the ‘dinosaur’ called Lucy in Lincoln castle. I’d sent a picture!
Lovely talking to my daughter in Argentina who is at last starting to recover, it really does sound like she’s had Covid again. Despite the head torch, I was so busy talking to her along the tow path I missed the turn to the campsite but luckily realised before I’d gone too far. Started two new books today which I have been saving for this week.
