Dragonfly...

This little chap enjoyed the September sunshine in the garden this morning! Stayed in this position for about an hour which was lovely to see.

Today has been a day of trying to distract ourselves. Received a call last night to say that a friend of ours was very ill in hospital and the next 24 hours were critical - it's all been very sudden and she's only 50 so we're all just pretty numb today and praying that the phone doesn't ring cos that will only bring us bad news.  Can't begin to imagine how her parents, husband and daughter are feeling right now but hope she's fighting hard.

So the garden has been our sanctuary today - lots of pruning to take out our frustrations on and also put up some new bird feeders and food that arrived from A Little Bird Company which are a lovely little company.  I'm sure the birds will approve!
