Birthday Girl!

It’s my sister’s birthday today so after we dropped Sophie at school we drove over to Bath for surprise birthday lunch at 15, the hotel and restaurant where their daughter’s (our niece’s) husband is head chef, in Great Poultney Street.

Because he’s so busy at the hotel, we haven’t seen Phil for some time so it was good to catch up with him. His food is always delicious and today’s was no exception. By the time we’d eaten and he’d given us a guided tour of what is a very luxurious and quirkily decorated hotel, the afternoon had disappeared.

Just the one candle as it would be rude to reveal a lady’s age but let’s just say it was trombone time! Fans of vintage musicals will get the hint.
