Quick trip to Asda to get milk and sundry items before spending the whole marvelous day with mbiatw Jean who arrived from Kent late morning. As the Fox and Raven is not available now due to refurbishment, we went to the village of Boreham for a long, leisurely and utterly delicious lunch at the Six Bells, a traditional pub with homemade dishes, and we both agreed it was an excellent choice!

Back home again we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening until she left around 10.30ish chatting - finding solutions to all the world's problems, as you do, how much better we'd be at politicking than the professionals seem to be, etc,  though we did also watch the grandchildren carryout their vigil of Her Majesty's lying in state.
