Bean fest
A different day entirely from yesterday. Very low key after the high drama and emotion of London as the city, its people and all the visitors say their personal farewells and gratitude to the Queen. Glad to have gone, on balance not joining the queue was the right decision. Or was it?
Went to the allotment first thing, collected around 4kg of runner beans. All that watering with a can has paid off as with the recent rain they’ve taken off. These are some of the longest beans I’ve ever grown.
The smaller beans have been turned into a green bean chutney and I gave a pile to our neighbour who looks after our garden while we’re away. We travel to York on Wednesday for a few days leading up to my cousin’s wake on Saturday. She died during lockdown last year, not from covid.
We shall be at the NYMR autumn gala on Friday and in the Lakes for a week from next Saturday.
Thank you for your comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s blip. I’m at Tenterden tomorrow in the signalbox which should provide an opportunity to reply and visit your journals
