Canalside

Bernard came over to visit this morning and we went for a walk down the canal. Last night I received a call from the local radio in France asking for my reaction and the reactions of my compatriots to the death of Queen Elizabeth. I was taken aback as this was only fifteen minutes after the announcement! Jeff went immediately up the tower to ring the 'glas' and tolled the bell 96 times. I understand the radio has been to the village to report on the half muffled ringing this afternoon and a television crew will be there on Sunday to film more similar ringing.
