Finally

Last night, at least three thunderstorms finally found their way across the Rheingau, followed by another one this afternoon. 

Together they brought just over 20 mm of rain - the first proper rainfall in well over two months. I just loved the smell of damp soil this morning, and opened all our windows to it.

Later, the temperature rose to 27 degrees, which made the air steamy and quite tropical. But if the forecast is right, we might get some more rain and less heat in the next few days.
