The winner at Wisley

This morning I went to the a flower Show at Wisley. I went early and got there for 9am so no problem parking very near the entrance. I had a look round all the stalls selling plants etc but nothing tempted me so I bought nothing from any of them! I did have a nice breakfast in the Terrace Restaurant which I did not realise did breakfast as well as lunch…very civilised , lovely and quiet and good waiter service. Such a contrast to the crowded restaurant and not too expensive.
The photo is of the winning exhibit in one of the classes in the NADFAS flower arranging tent. I have never seen a class like this before…see extra…where they have to make an arrangement using things they have been given. There were some other much more whacky arrangements as the theme this year was Fantasia?!

I did buy some bulbs ( a bag of 100 tete a tete) in  the RHS shop and also a couple of hardy ferns as there were no nurseries selling any .
I didn’t walk around the rest of the gardens today but I was agreeably surprised to see how lush and green the grass at Wisley is compared to round us.

Lots of heavy rain in the early afternoon so had to stay indoors and no excuse not to do some tidying and cleaning as guests coming at the weekend!
