Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Big Job!

JR went off to the gym, and after my exercises (no cycling, I think I’ve pulled a muscle in my calf) I decided that today was THE DAY - the hedge just HAD to be tackled, as it was becoming a bit of an eyesore. So I got the sides done before JR arrived home. Of course sweeping up is even more of a chore.

JR then got the big ladder out and set to on the top of the hedge, so I had to sweep up again. It took us absolutely ages, but boy, it looks lovely.

Robert popped in, a bit frazzled. He was moving house today, but… the money hadn’t come through from the people moving to his house!! His stuff has been put in storage, they’re going to have to find a hotel for the night, and HOPE that it’s all sorted tomorrow. Jings! Talk about stress.

Archie hung around, wanting to help. NOT. He LOVES trying to kill the brush.

I was stuffed after that, but JR, having popped to pick up some dry cleaning, walked back with Archie to pay, as their card thingie wasn’t working. Then did she sit down? No, she walked to Waitrose for a click and collect. And she walked back! (14,800 steps)

Christine and Dougal popped in on the way to pick up some home made vegetarian pies at Mellis, so I asked her to get us a couple too. And they were very tasty. We shared one, as they’re very filling.

I watched a bit of tennis (Jack Draper’s match) and then a bit of cricket, and had a wee snooze.
