Diary of an Edinburgher

How life works?

Archie and I took a big walk round the Meadows this morning, after I had done my exercises and my HIIT session on the bike. (Twice). I was lured out by my new discovery of delicious oat milk flat whites at the caravan. I resist the bakes, and even the doggie liver muffins. Archie doesn’t know they’re sold there, so no need to alert him of this interesting fact.

I was listening to my book, and so sat on a bench every so often. Though I’m not sure I’m enjoying it that much. I don’t really want to know about the sordid goings-on in seedy sex clubs, which is where she’s just killed one unsuspecting relative. It’s called ‘How to Kill Your Family’ and is a Sunday Times #1 Best Seller. Richard Osman ‘Loved this book…’ just as well it was free, and I didn’t waste actual money on it.

We did nearly 6,000 steps, and I was fair struggling coming up the long slope (I call it a hill) of our road. But we found these books being given away. Archie was quite keen, but I didn’t feel either of us was ready for Freud or Jung, and definitely not Freud and Jung!

JR was busy re-painting the outdoor furniture when we came back. It’s a task we’ve been meaning to do, er, all summer… The hedge is also looming, but that can’t be left as long. Maybe tomorrow. Definitely before the rain comes.
