International Overdose Awareness Day

August 31st is commemorated the world over as IOAD.  We attended the rally in Wilmington for a little bit tonight.  It is a way to celebrate people who are currently in Recovery, remember those who have lost their lives and give courage to those still struggling.  Everybody is someone's someone. There was music and speakers. We really didn't stay long, almost ten years after losing Sumner, we just don't feel like reliving the tragedy - more often we know she is still with us even if we can't see her physically and has a way of letting us know.
