Simmenfalle

The fabulous waterfall at the end of the Lenk valley was in full flow today. It was spectacular, as were the ones we could see higher up. The walks near it are now closed from midday at the moment as that is when the melting glacier water starts to build up. See extra with P in the photo to show the scale.

We set off this morning for our last three days away in the van before the end of the summer holidays. We stopped for a picnic above Jaun, see extra,then parked near Lenk and did an ebike ride to explore the area. We haven’t been here before in the summer and we pleasantly surprised how lovely it is. The tourist office was very helpful with information on walks and bike rides. Tonight we are at a cable car park with spectacular views and just the distant sound of cow bells.
