View from Rolvenden signalbox

My second, of many, learning turns at Rolvenden signalbox. Teddy Bear, a loco on loan, leaves the station to pass the box with the A set on the 10.40 from Tenterden, the first train of the day.

Running an all diesel timetable owing to continued high fire risk. The DMU was on the B set. Very little rain at Rolvenden although Bodiam had a fair dowsing. It appeared there was some in Maidstone too.

Rolvenden box is the hub of the railway. Running trains is more straightforward than Wittersham Road but there are so many other workings, many of which are unique, which will take some time to understand. Today I learned how to work fuel runs and movements in and out of the carriage shed and sidings.

In the yard another Teddy Bear can be seen. This is our own and is undergoing repair. Also in view are 4414, Swiftsure, (both loan locos and both redundant in the present circumstances) and the Ruston diesel.
