A Trip Down Memory Lane
Yesterday I picked up a programme for Diablerets Film Festival, opened it, and gasped. There was a photo of Alison Hargreaves, probably the most accomplished female mountaineer to date. She died coming down from K2 in 1995 and as a youngster of 13 years old she did her first ever rock climbs in a compulsory half day session at Belper High School where I taught outdoor pursuits. The film, The Last Mountain, has caused some controversy but I found it very moving. Usually I never go to see mountaineering films they are too upsetting. Here’s a link to her life if you are interested…

Other memories were stirred looking at photos of old mountaineers showing hemp ropes and small rollei cameras that we used to take when we climbed in the old, dangerous days! See extras…
Off out for a meal with friends now and a great storm is brewing at last!
