Dorset
Awoke to a grey day today, and the sun did not shine once. We dressed for the cooler weather today but were still cold, as the wind was biting.
Our first port of call was to go to the Abbotsbury Gardens, which had rhododendrons and camellias out, along with other spring flowers. In this collage, the little fern fronds comes from the gardens. We had some lunch there, I had such a delicious sausage roll, such light pastry and nice light sausage. Finished with a piece of Queen Victoria cake, which was scrumptious. Dups and I shared it as it was such a big piece.
The little flower at the top is one I have never seen before, and is along the road sides.
It is known as The Cuckoo Flower. The thatched cottage with lovely flower garden is in Chideock, as is the bottom left corner photo. It is of a little Memorial Chapel with gorgeous paintings on the ceiling. The last photo is the main street of Bridport.
We had dinner at the Coach and Horse at Winterbourne Abbas where we had the roast of the day. Now I am really ready for bed!
