Grapes!
Spent this afternoon at Buttonwood Winery for a birding and wine tasting afternoon. Odd combo I know , but they have quite an interest in birds and partnered with Montezuma Audubon for these talks. We walked around the vineyard and through some old logging trails. Unfortunately given the time of year and the time of day we saw more vines than birds, unless you count robins which were seen everywhere. Then there was a wine tasting , followed by meeting 4 raptors from Braddock Bay rescue . The extra is a close up of the gorgeous great horned owl. She apparently had come in with both wings broken and is still not able to fly. The merlin had a partially amputated wing , and both the red tail and broadwing had lost an eye from their injuries.
