Watched the closing ceremony with the masses in Victoria Square who sang along with all the Brummie favourites but reserved their biggest cheer for Ozzy Osborne. Definitely a Brum ting! Have loved all the coverage and the kindness of the presenters to the city. What a gift it has been to live amongst all of the excitement and share it with family and friends too. I just want to go back to the start and live it all again!
When I think back to the 3 year countdown launch blipped here I can remember a total washout of a day with barely a crowd and feeling sorry for soaking wet dancers and presenter ploughing on through puddles. I’m blown away by what Birmingham has achieved, how much has changed and that the Games finally arrived in the city, bringing in the multitudes and a spectacle way beyond my imagination. Massive respect to all the organisers and volunteers, they absolutely smashed it!
And thank goodness the football season is here to keep my pecker up.
